We are a specialist Fleet Maintenance Engineering Consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering repeat business with key clients across the rail industry. As we embark on our next phase of growth, we are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our leadership team and drive expansion—particularly within the traction and rolling stock space.
🔧 About the Role
This is a national role, with a strong focus on the London market, and will see you using your existing network within fleet maintenance, traction, and rolling stock to bring in new business opportunities, develop client relationships, and play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic direction.
You’ll work closely with our technical and delivery teams, helping to align client needs with our service offerings and continuing to strengthen relationships with our long-standing repeat clients.
🚀 Key Responsibilities
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the rail fleet maintenance and rolling stock sector.
Utilise your existing contacts and network in London and nationally to open new doors and drive company growth.
Meet regularly with current and prospective clients to understand their needs and present tailored consultancy solutions.
Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives as part of the senior management team.
Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients to ensure ongoing repeat business and upselling opportunities.
Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
🎯 What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in business development or client relationship roles within the rail or fleet maintenance sector.
An active network and up-to-date contacts in the traction / rolling stock market—essential.
Strong understanding of the UK rail industry, particularly the London market.
Self-motivated and outgoing, with a proactive approach to building and maintaining client relationships.
Confident communicator and natural relationship builder, both in-person and virtually.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into growth opportunities.
